Privacy Policy

1. What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy describes how Translucid collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the Translucid platform, the secure cloud interview workspace infrastructure, the dashboard, the audit-trail viewer, and any associated APIs or embedded players (collectively, the "Service"). It applies to two audiences: the engineering hiring teams that create accounts and run sessions, and the candidates who receive an invitation link and work inside a session. By using the Service, you agree to the terms of this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect three categories of information.

Account information. When a hiring team creates an account, we collect the name, work email, and organization name provided at sign-up, plus authentication metadata issued by our identity provider.

Workspace configuration. When a team connects a repository, uploads a rubric, or configures a challenge pipeline, we store the configuration metadata, the source files that the challenge engine reads, and any custom evaluation criteria.

Session audit trail. When a session runs, Translucid records every action that touches the execution plane: keystrokes, terminal commands, AI prompts and completions, file diffs, browser navigation, environment exports, recruiter and agent entries and exits, and annotation overlays. Translucid does not record the candidate's private device, the candidate's home network, or any process running outside the Translucid execution plane.

3. What the Candidate's Device Sees

Translucid's threat model assumes the candidate's device is hostile. The candidate's browser opens a streaming URL and renders a pixel surface protected by Widevine L1. The candidate's device does not host the challenge source code, the audit trail, or the AI agent's prompt context. The candidate's device sees the same pixels that the recruiter sees, in the same order, at the same time.

4. How We Use the Information

Translucid uses the information it collects to operate the Service, to render the audit trail, to enforce session integrity, to prevent abuse, to invoice the hiring team, and to improve the platform. Translucid does not use the audit trail to train general-purpose AI models. Translucid does not sell candidate or hiring team data to third parties.

5. Where the Data Lives

Account information, workspace configuration, and the session audit trail are stored in secured cloud infrastructure operated by Translucid's infrastructure providers. The session execution plane itself lives only for the lifetime of a session and is destroyed at the end of it. The audit trail, which is the record of what happened during the session, outlives the execution plane and is retained according to the retention policy you select.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Hiring teams control the retention period for the audit trail of each session. When a session is deleted by the hiring team, or when the retention period expires, the audit trail is permanently removed from Translucid's primary storage within thirty days and from backups within ninety days. Account information is retained for as long as the account is active. You may request export or deletion of your account data at any time by writing to info@translucid.cloud.

7. Subprocessors

Translucid uses a small set of subprocessors to operate the Service, including a managed Postgres database, an object store for audit-trail archives, a session streaming service, a content delivery network, and an email delivery service. Each subprocessor is contractually bound to data-processing terms no less protective than this Policy. A current list of subprocessors is available on request.

8. Candidate Rights

Candidates may request a copy of the audit trail for any session they participated in, or request that the audit trail be deleted. Translucid will route such requests to the hiring team that ran the session, and will cooperate with the hiring team to honor them within the timeframes required by applicable law. Candidates may also contact Translucid directly at info@translucid.cloud to ask questions about how their session data is handled.

9. Security

Translucid protects the audit trail with encryption in transit and at rest, with hardware-isolated session execution, with a Widevine L1 protected media path, and with continuous access logging. No security control is perfect, and Translucid cannot guarantee absolute security. Translucid will notify affected hiring teams without undue delay if it becomes aware of a security incident that materially affects their data.

10. Children

The Service is intended for engineering hiring. It is not directed at children under 16, and Translucid does not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has been invited into a session, contact info@translucid.cloud and Translucid will remove the relevant data.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If a change is material, we will give you at least thirty days' notice by email or by a banner in the dashboard. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Policy constitutes acceptance.
