By accessing or using the Translucid platform, the secure cloud interview workspace infrastructure, and any associated APIs, dashboards, or embedded players (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Translucid is operated by the Translucid team for engineering hiring teams that need to evaluate candidates in a secure, AI-legible environment.
Translucid is an AI-native secure interview platform. The execution plane of every interview is a disposable cloud session that streams to the candidate's browser through a Widevine L1 protected media path. Translucid scans the hiring team's codebase, generates stack-specific challenges through the Lucy agent, and produces an audit-grade record of every action that touches the session. The Service is provided to engineering hiring teams and the candidates they invite. It is not intended for any other use.
You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to enter into these Terms on behalf of yourself or the organization you represent. If you are accepting on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization, and references to "you" refer to that organization.
To use the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials, for any activity that occurs under your account, and for the actions of anyone you invite into a workspace or session. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account information current. You must promptly notify Translucid of any unauthorized use of your account.
You agree not to misuse the Service. You will not attempt to capture, record, mirror, or extract the contents of any interview session outside the audit trail Translucid provides. You will not attempt to disable, circumvent, or reverse engineer the Widevine L1 protected media path or the Translucid execution plane. You will not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or malicious, and you will not use the Service to discriminate against any candidate on the basis of any protected characteristic. You will not attempt to use the Service to surveil, proctor, or biometrically profile a candidate beyond what the candidate has explicitly consented to in writing.
The audit trail generated by a session is a record of the actions the candidate took inside the Translucid execution plane. It is not a transcript of the candidate's private device. You are responsible for how you store, share, and act on the audit trail and for giving candidates any notices or consents that the laws of your jurisdiction require. You retain ownership of the code your candidates produce inside the execution plane. Translucid retains ownership of the underlying platform, the audit trail schema, and the forensic-watermark tooling.
The Service, including the Lucy agent, the challenge engine, the audit-trail schema, the dashboard, the playback viewer, and all related documentation, is and will remain the exclusive property of Translucid and its licensors. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your internal hiring purposes. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service except to the extent that applicable law expressly prohibits such restrictions.
Paid plans are billed in advance for the period selected at sign-up. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change prices for subsequent renewal terms by giving you at least thirty days' notice. Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of the Service.
You may terminate your account at any time from the dashboard. Translucid may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you breach these Terms, if payment fails, or if continued operation of the Service is no longer commercially viable. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including those on intellectual property, disclaimers, indemnity, and governing law, will survive.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Translucid disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Translucid does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error free, or that every form of cheating or interview compromise will be detected. The Widevine L1 protected media path depends on hardware, operating system, and browser features outside of Translucid's control, and may degrade to L3 or lower on devices that do not support L1.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Translucid will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill. The total aggregate liability of Translucid for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of one hundred US dollars or the total fees you paid Translucid in the twelve months preceding the claim.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Translucid and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law or the rights of a third party.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will give you at least thirty days' notice by email or by a banner in the dashboard. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may terminate your account before the effective date.
